A few habits that protect both buyers and sellers — read this before you send money or hand over keys.

For buyers & renters

• Always view the property in person (or with a trusted agent) before paying anything — photos and 360° views are a screening tool, not a substitute for a visit.
• Never send money to an account name that doesn't match the person you're chatting with. Ask for ID.
• Confirm the seller actually owns or has authority to sell/rent the property — ask for the C of O, survey plan, or tenancy agreement.
• Use the in-app chat first so there's a written record of what was agreed.
• Be extra cautious with prices that are far below similar listings nearby.

For sellers & landlords

• Only share personal financial details with serious, verified buyers.
• Meet buyers in safe, public, or well-known locations for the first viewing.
• Use clear, honest photos — front, back, and inside — so only genuinely interested buyers reach out.
• Report suspicious buyer behaviour (pressure to skip viewings, requests to pay unusual fees) to our team.
